Her assessment model and therapy techniques are used as seminal and representative models and guides in the training programs for speech-language pathologists offered through leading organizations such as ASHA, Speechpathology.com, and Cross Country Education. Amee Shah founded the EBAM Institute (“Evidence-based Accent Management” as a global platform to develop research and enable the evidence-based practice, clinical training, and service delivery to manage communication barriers and create infusion of diversity across various industries. She founded three industry-specific models and programs, namely, “Doctors without Accent Borders TM”, “Corporations without Accent Borders TM”, and “Universities without Accent Borders TM ”. The communication programs developed and tested under these three industryspecific models made a significant impact in leading organizations such as Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School, Towers Watson, Airgas, Boston University, KeyBank, and Cleveland State University to name a few. She is a recognized expert in the area of accents (popularly known by her brand name as “The Accent Authority”). She has been interviewed and featured on many media outlets including National Public Radio, MSNBC, NBC News, and Ohio TV. She is a noted keynote and seminar speaker on the topics of cultural competence, managing communication barriers for impact and ROI, foreign accents and regional dialects, accent modification, bilingual concerns, and multicultural diversity, presenting on these topics at nationally- and internationally-recognized platforms.
